When a security cover ( kavach/कवच) becomes subtler, the weapon turns harmless 😜😜😜😜

Vashishta offered his physical body to be ‘tested’ by a “siddha_ascetic” who demonstrated his own ability first ( the sword broke, when he slashed his own arm with the other slashing it holding a sword).

To the surprise of that ascetic, the sword just passed through the chest of Vashishta, twice, leaving the body unharmed 😜

Ever heard of the “assassination” of a mahaRishi?

Ever heard of a brahmin lady of the first 3 yugas being ‘raped/molested’??? ( Z security was sophisticated 🙏).

( There's a ‘story’ of a mad elephant sent to trample Gautama Buddha deliberately. It became ‘calm’ and sat down at his feet, after it reached His proximity 😂. A symbolic story, to evidence the “subtle Z category security cover, which those spiritually -evolved giants carried along 24/7, at Zero_cost 🙏😜)

Even Cyber security was sophisticated. Proof: the pontiff of puri mutt ( a Shankaracharya) had to meditate for some 7 years, to download Vedic maths ( akash_tatwa/nothingness, not just Cloud_computers)!

Our own hidden divinity is held “captive”( a prisoner, not as a security_cover) by our own Wide_spectrum of kavach, our kaarmic residues 😜🙏

A very small but significant difference in the ancients was, they devised the security cover into a cost_effective gadget/tool 🙏. ( Evidence abounds even today, if we care to look at few seekers walking barefoot, scantily clothed, in sub-zero temperature around the mountain ranges of Himalayas. Warm clothing are a burdensome nuisance for them 🙏. My own curiosity got satiated unwittingly, when i practiced a few spiritual tools for a higher purpose,🙏….the byproduct was, i didn't need the ‘normal’ protective clothing from small extremes of weather like hot_sun, torrential_rain, or winter cold suggesting warm_clothes🙏).

Spirituality happens to touch every aspect of material life ALSO 🙏…..and in a Pronounced way😜🙏

Only in 1994 i came to know, that my being within is under a “E-category security cover” provided by my spiritual teacher, under a 400_year_old contract 🙏😂. Demotion works better for me, when my pursuit is to merge with nothingness 🤣

Everyone knows about the taste of promotion ( owner's pride and neighbours envy…. goes well with promotion as well, like it used to describe a TV ad)

Demotion, when CONSCIOUSLY opted for, adds an external support to insulate oneself from the inherent tendency of ‘identification’ of the ‘being' within with something that only might ‘belong’ to it, but can never be that something itself 🙏.

Rigorous tests emerged when my potential & capabilities started expanding in terms of becoming useful to better_handling of material aspect of life, for myself and others 😥. It called for greater caution, to avoid getting identified with this accrued accumulation of capabilities, useful only for handling the life outside of me, and the thing that just belonged to me for this lifetime only🙏

Oh yes…. these additional capabilities were an incidental byproduct of my spiritual journey, and were never my purpose of the journey. In fact, 😜, the journey itself largely constituted the ‘distancing from everything that was not_me’ 🙏

I don't know how a reader is going to view this narrative 🙏… The question of any value addition to a reader arises only thereafter 🙏

( A professional 'teacher', who is unfortunately sincere in teaching, needs the 'use: of sense of Discrimination...to distinguish this, in her each student — for a response to be productive 🙏😭)

Otherwise, for mere salary, teacher simply 'parrots' the damn syllabus every year till retirement. Any value addition to the kids is quite incidental and unintentional 😔🙏

If adults are eager to ‘know' about their own levels of receptivity ( whether it is just a curiosity to know? Or an exploration to rediscover something?)....they can try an honest introspection at their recent sightseeing trips 😜

( I omit mentioning details of my eccentricities in each visit to strange spiritual places, mostly plundered remnants 🙏)

But a joke is okay 👍…..

A cousin of mine, a native of Kerala, and hence understandably ‘extra-proud’ of his grasp in mallu language, boasted of his in-depth grasp of the subtle theme of an old movie “nakhaKshatangal” ( newly released then!). He even described the newer dimensions he noticed incrementally during his second and third viewing of that movie 😂. One hour, he described the ‘subtle’ aspects 🙏. He paused.

I replied “ i saw the movie only ONCE 🙏”, and continued “i think i can relate the theme to the name of the movie, as a humble guess, since you didn't mention the justification of title of the movie 🙏”

And i proceeded with my version of what i saw😂…. Just 15 minutes, since I had to mention ONLY what he missed!

He felt a little awkward to openly say that i noticed even that, which he missed, but he blurted it in another sentence “ i must see that movie again now👍”( unable to ‘wait’, he traveled a 100 kms to a theatre where it was screened in its second run, morning show, after renewal of licence of 10 years, from censor Board.

Who within us, is 'seeking' to know?( About such people?)

Whether he is a fakir or Bhagwan?

Any 'miracle' performer becomes popular, much faster than a humble saintly person who quietly minds his own bijness 🙏 

If the 'miracles' are just for show, people seek only entertainment.

If the miracle gives solutions to people, they become 'devotees' 

If miracles cause harm, people hate the person, fear him, and become a slave too 😓

That simple fellow going through all the same/similar hurdles of life, and yet remains undisturbed, joyous, emotionally stable, intellectually sharp, highly receptive,responsive etc impresses 'rare few' around 😜. Such rare few seek_to_know the rahasya/secret of this ever_joyous guy. 

Miracles are those which eludes our grasp🙏

( A tribal boy from deep african jungle regards even me as a miracle -man, if I touch a wall and a bulb lights_up at the ceiling 😜. Truth is, i lack the basic knowledge when a light refuses to switch on? Wiring, fused bulb or power trip? 🤔)

Human body is a miracle gadget🙏

It can be turned into a below_animal level of indulgence or can be turned to transcend nature🙏 ( personal choice......what i do with my body😓)

With rigorous training and practices ( tapas, austerity) this body can become a conduit for receiving+ transmitting subtle energies. Such potential was known as siddhis 🙏. The quality of 'mind' is exclusive to such capabilities.

Body can also become a conduit 'naturally' 😜, in rare/stray/freak cases. ( Karmic residues of far_past). How is the extra/super 'powers' going to be used? The quality of mind decides😜..

The people around are also 'driven' by their own mind's quality 🙏. ( Rare few bother to 'free' themselves/spirit/atma/whatever, from the clutches of own mind🙏. )

Somehow, I wasn't interested or attracted towards any super_powers, or the performers thereof 🙏....  Instead, i was keen to make the 'best possible use' of this gadget i got for 'free' and to strive to evolve to my_best, till my last breath. Let the 'giver' of this gadget decide/judge about my performance 🙏.  As i grew up, i discovered that i can do something with my body, then something/somebody taught me, i can tame even my mind, using my body&breath ( mind is connected to the 2) 😜...   Good enough 🙏 👍.   Thus, value_addition became a thing I ended up seeking after😜😂... It stayed and even stabilised my seeking to refine myself 🙏.

Reincarnation of Rama

Assuming that Rama was indeed real(assumption is only to 'please' sceptics 😭)

And, Rama (same character, but present version of aam_aadmi) is around 20 years of age today(2026).

Rama_2026 will live and go unnoticed 😜

No one will vote for him. Deposit lost as an MLA/MP ( even his own family won't vote. They vote for only freebies. Any accidentally honest family fellow will conclude "misfit in today's world. No use wasting my honest vote).

We aam Aadmi are different from aam Aadmi of "RaamRajya"( please see, raamRajya was not about Sri Rama, it was about "rajya", the citizens of tretaYug. Logic 🙏)

We are highly tolerant to....
1. Wide spread corruption 
2. Dishonest within+outside family 
3. Mutual indifference 
4. Lack of empathy 
5. Materialism upto 99.99%
6. Display of arrogance of money and it's related power.
7. Disuse of sense of Discrimination 😜 ( to the extent that we don't know what it really means🙄)

Rama_2026 leans too heavily on outside support ( 100% genuine as 'aam aadmi' and therefore doesn't 'carry' super_powers like other Avatars 😭).

Meanwhile, those divine guys( somewhere up there) might have perhaps thought "let the aam aadmi do what they like, forsaking the basic_human_values. Anyway 'in the scheme of things'  self_destruction is a pucca embedded software 👍. Those few who wake up despite the negatives all around, will find their liberation too, clandestinely 😜"

A tribute to my teacher

 I do not ( rather "should not") expect a reader to find any value addition from this one blog 🙏

Nothing prevents a reader to find anything 'worthwhile' in it.

I felt it appropriate to place a gratitude at the feet of my teacher, as a 'gesture' also, since this blog allows me such a freedom 🙏 ( my gratitude to the organization "blogger.com")

Any genuine seeker on a spiritual path, finds numerous questions surging from within 😜.

In my case, I CONSCIOUSLY decided to wait patiently till the teacher decides to answer them, unasked 😂.

I did ask one question 🙏 ( it was about my disinclination to ask any question 😥).

I took every care possible by me, to present the question in strict conformity with verse 110 of chapter 2, in the Manusmriti 🙏 ( the care was owing to the reverence I felt for my teacher, despite his flexibility in "ask me any nonsensical question 👍" )

My question: "why is it that my urge to articulate a question dies by the time I reach your proximity? I fail to ask! 🤔"

His reply is too sacred for me to CopyPaste it here🙏( it is nothing secret, private, personal, confidential or anything like that.... Just sacred, due to its sanctity😂). I didn't have to ask any question to him thereafter 🙏.

Stubbornity, firmness, and flexibility

 Stubbornity, firmness, and flexibility 

One blessing in disguise is that my blogs are seldom taken too intensely.( Only one out my 1000+ blogs ‘caused’ a rare and one of the coveted states of spiritual experience. Neither me or that reader can claim any ’credit’. Closest explanation is, like a huge spill at a petrol bunk, with the air super_soaked with the oil, waiting for a spark from a humble matchstick at the edge of the ‘area’ 😜)

My spiritual teacher is a “super” example for me, to learn the ‘basics’ of life 🙏 

It took 3 decades for me to even understand his extra_flexibility in handling ‘me’ as his own_commitment towards the disciple decided upon by_him.  Otherwise, his_flexibility towards many others was like God's own flexibility towards humans😜(“do whatever nonsense you like for a million lifetimes 👍.  Eventually, you will seek Me”). My teacher's firmness at its subtlest should have been ‘the’ reason for his flexibility unto me! 😂.  

Becoming aware of one's own stubbornity is very basic to living meaningfully 🙏. And this awareness leans too heavily upon the need of understanding ”firmness” with utter clarity.

We relax our stubbornity under great stress, mental tension, anxiety, fear etc😂. Perhaps, anger is the only negative emotion that adds to own stubbornity 🙏

I leave it at that …. 😜

Post script:  I can confess here! I haven't been able to adhere to the 110th verse of chapter 2, of Manusmriti, despite decades of consistent efforts 🙏.  My own stubbornity is awaiting for a clarity about the need to adhere to it effortlessly 🙏. Till then, my firmness is my stubbornity in disguise 😭, and I am painfully aware of this self_deception 😜

My spiritual teacher narrated a brief story during my first time to a spiritual program, (closest word for its sanskrit name is “synthesis”).

Story:

Gautama Buddha had a very close childhood friend.  A commitment to such friendship is unconditional+ without expectations 🙏.

Buddha ‘wished’ that this friend should benefit from the spiritual wealth Gautama possessed. But that friend used to procrastinate every time when Gautama passes by the shop of that friend, saying “too busy with my bijness, next time you visit 👍”

Years passed. That ‘next time ‘ never came 😂.

News spread that Buddha is going to breathe his_last soon.

Friend was shocked! He rushed to see Buddha 🙏.

Disciples prevented him initially “nobody can disturb his peaceful departure 🙏”

Friend implored “my kid age friend. Just 5 seconds🙏, last_chance for me😭”

Friend was allowed.

Buddha was lying eyes closed. No movement.

Friend: “Hey, Siddharth ... .I am here. I apologise having neglected you all along 🙏. Just tell me one thing. How to get_you after you are gone???”

Gautama opened his eyes, looked into the eyes of his friend and said “watch your breath”. Eyes closed thereafter 🙏 

It is said, these words “watch your breath” became one of the most_powerful spiritual_tool given by Buddha 🙏 ( it needs the ‘key words’ for it to function….😜. Only a Guru can ‘initiate’ a deserving disciple to use those ‘key words' 🙏. A chant!

( Even otherwise, plain breath_awareness can work….but only according to the ‘fuel of intensity ‘ of a seeker 😜)

In 1970 or so, I was surprised to see a movie being released in morning show 😳

After seeing the movie, i got the answer 👍 ( dosage of entertainment is below the minimum requirement of masses 😕)

( Chandramohan jain whispered his question, not shouted to the speaker, 🙏. He knew the 'nature' of audience 🙏. )

Imagine Rajnikant/Amitabh ( even devAnand ) replicating the boxing/wrestling world championship style against villain 😜. Audience will be bored to death.

I was 'eagerly' awaited by my cousins in Kerala during summer holidays. Even after 15 days' stay with each gang, they request 'stay one more week 🙏'. ( Now, it is 2 decades since I visited them. They don't 'miss' me 🙏. Instead, they feel relieved 😜. I don't entertain 😭, of late 😥).

Remove the frills from crowd_rituals and improve the bare_vedic part, and see if people 'attend' with the same number? 😅 (The frills obscured the purpose of attendance itself😭🙏🙏🙏)

Exceptions are everywhere and in everything 👍. ( Jaggi's third program is a total contrast to the first basic yoga programs, in terms of entertainment. 😅.... Still, a good number come. सिर्फ़, the 'good' in the number is from the 'large' of 8 basic program of 10 places😥🙏). 

Seminars are popular today, only because the organisers sacrificed the intrinsic meaning of the word 'semen' in the adapted_concept behind selection of the audience 🙏. The main_purpose of 'seminar' is irrelevant now👍

Patanjali’s yoga sutras( the book) is rarely read. Among the readers very rarely understood. Within those who understood, very few practiced it 😥. It is not popular, but antique, and therefore survives today. The ‘preservation’ part is owing to earliest readers who attributed reverence by themselves_becoming a product of that monumental book🙏. Today it is a most boring book for today's minds, in its bare form without any explanation 🙏

My PM, Modi has openly declared “dear citizens, i depend on you during my entire term of each 5 years, when you elect me🙏”

( Other scam netas depend on me….only on the day of voting 😜)

I like to respond via communication also, apart from performance of my citizen_Dharma 🙏. But i failed miserably in reaching him. The intermediaries aren't responsive enough, every time. I have abandoned the idea of reaching my PM, at least till the structure ( interface) is healthy 🙏( to convince a sceptical reader, shall i quote an instance where, i failed in my 6_years of persistence to return the freebie amount credited in my family account? 🙏. It was just an error, in feeding the rightful recipients account number 🙏. But, who else but me can point it out? Public money. )

Kings of the ancient Bharat adhered to a tradition: travel INCOGNITO through the streets of their kingdom 🙏. Even the most_timid citizens get ‘reached’ by_the_king🙏. Corrupt intermediaries face a threat 😜. King ‘depends’ on the aspirations of common man 🙏

A mom depends on her baby, to know how/where/when to give her care.

If parents misunderstood the independence of earning/married children, this “care” for adult children becomes a big nuisance 🤣 

A joke: 3 kids excitedly reported to their teacher “ M’am, we HELPED an old woman to cross the street today👍. Our compulsory homework of ‘do a good deed today’ is a completed Assignment 🙏”

Teacher: “ Good!”. As an after thought, teacher asked the 3 kids “why did it NEED 3 of you to help her cross the street?”

3 kids : “ because, she NEVER needed to cross the street, and we HAD to somehow do a good_deed 😥😥😥”

A doctor depends on the patient's body’s willingness to accept the medicine 🙏. We ‘talk’ only about our dependance on a doctor's honesty+ skill 😓

A spiritual teacher has a difficulty 🙏.  He looks for dependance of a disciple, based on the receptivity of the disciple and not the need/wish/willingness of the disciple 😥. That's why a Guru decides, not the disciple about tutelage 😜. And, once a Guru decides, the disciple is choiceless 🙏

Godji, (if really an existing entity), didn't take any risk 🤣. He planted a piece of himself in us, and obviated his dependance on our uprighteousness to manage his bijness 😜.

My algebra Teacher had taught this .

I even got good marks in the examination reproducing what was taught .

But as a kid the practical application in normal mathematics came to me only-through a shortcut I learn’t in Vedic maths.

Example:

978 x 990

written as (1000-22)(1000-10)

the short cut doesn’t bother to explain the definition/formula. It simply says “do this mentally, and you get the answer)

I do this:

Step-1: 978 minus 10 (or 990 minus 22, whichever is easier)

I get 968000 (3 zeroes I am ‘asked to add’, no questions)

Step 2 : -22 x -10 , I get = 220

step 3: I add 220 to 968000

answer is = 968220

(Rules are framed under an enacted law, for functionality. Nothing new!)

My physics teacher taught 4 concepts related to water.

Not ‘how to combine and use the 4’ 

Later, I saw water ‘climbing’ on its own at 2 historical places (Paan-chakki & Golkonda fort).

Armed with these 2 (school physics, and visuals of 2 historical places), I resisted paying bribe to the water-Lineman, when I got a house constructed decades ago!

In those days, water was from a huge tank situated far away, catering a very large area of houses, and by the time it reaches my house at the outer edge, the pressure is inadequate to flow out of my tap, 1.5 feet above ground level.

I attempted to combine the 4 concepts(4 chapters, hydroEngr., related), and guidance from visuals of kid-age visit to the 2 historical places. 

I could get water for my domestic needs (without infringing the rules of water-supply, without tapping from underground, illegally )

but the ‘perfection’ in reaching optimal use of the 4 concepts, plus the ancient skills of Bharat, took me 3 decades to ‘reach’.

Moksha/salvation is yet another purpose of life for few at least.

Definitions abound. 

Functional application, to reach that state, attain that state aren’t much sought-after. Because, this activity has no relevance in managing the material aspect of life. 

I was on the look out for tools & techniques, not the definitions, or meaning of salvation (a guru said, “when you attain... anyway you will know it!”. I have reasons to trust him)

Unlike simple task of learning the use of algebra/physics, I had to pour out myself, to learn the subtleties involved in the time-tested tools.... 

one good thing is, there are footholds on the pathless path of spirituality (moksha). Once we plant our feet firmly on any of those footholds, chances of slipping down further is very remote.

 ShringaGiri

A rishi named Shringa is said to have performed penance on that mountain. The mountain got a label 😜…. Shringa’s Giri/hill.

It didn't stop with that…..😭

The very place acquired certain qualities too. It remained undiscovered, till a ‘visionary’ sighted these qualities 😂

Aadi shankara was that person. He even decided to be charitable about mentioning his discovery 🙏. Those life forms, which normally perform ONLY the functions embedded in them ( technical name is PraVrutti…. or, in our ‘way’ of understanding “embedded software”) happened to TRANSCEND this ‘nature' in them and performed a much superior function. 2 examples ( noticed by AadiShankara & depicted in a stone as a picture) is a vulture sparing the life of its prey/food, a snake, and a snake sparing a frog, and instead , both protecting their prey 😜. Sherlock Holmes used to ‘deduce’ . AadiShankara didn't have to, since he was capable of experiencing the subtle energy which caused this Transformation 🙏. He decided to institutionalise this quality for the benefit of mankind. A mutt, and a lineage of pontiffs, to this day, came into being, known as Sringeri Mutt. Assignment to the pontiffs is simple ( not quite easy 😜) : to propagate the highest of the 4 declaratory truths, “aham brahma asmi “... ( Tools required for the task, would be a choice according to ever-changing situations). Any visionary can verify the credibility of the place, with sufficient capabilities of perception and sense of Discrimination 🙏. ( A symbolic story to illustrate this effect of a ‘place’ like this is ‘The judgement throne of Vikramaditya “ where a cowherd boy happened to sit on a mound of mud, and astounded others by his unbelievable sense of Juris_Prudence, and later a king decided to dig that mound, to discover that throne_of_vikramaditya🙏.)

The concept of a place getting energised in a subtle level is available in the science of Temple_consecration 🙏. 

( Imagine my surprise, when a once_omitted_paternal uncle wrote an email to me “do you know, the sringeri pontiff, is our KulaGuru 👍”, in response my email about my visit to Sringeri, for a family_ritual !!! 😜… That, to me, has a new message “never should I indulge in exploiting the commitment of the ‘lineage’ of the pontiffs, no matter if the price i have to pay is Even_my_salvation🙏🙏🙏”)

A university by herself. Reason : got her ‘basics'(base) from her traditional lineage and steadfast from this adage🙏

But she was illiterate 😥

She can ONLY chant what Worked for her 😓

Her eight kids couldn't find a reason (situation) to quote this punchline 😂.

A translation looks like this : For oneself, each has to have a base, and the steadfastness ( to stay on that base)

 Such brevity, when it packs too many life_concepts, presents a huge task in finding its functionality, or functional_software to be applied in a routine life 🙏 

I too heard this punchline from her as an advice, in response to my reporting to her, my failure in having missed something very_relevant to me, when i yielded to some other attraction which diverted me away!😓. I could understand ONLY THE CONTEXTUAL relevance of this adage at that kid_age. And i did keep in mind, the advice for my use in SIMILAR situations 🙏

But now, the subtle sense in it is getting revealed and the value/worth of it seems UNIMAGINABLY deep 🙏🙏🙏. ( For example, if the ‘karma’ theory is acceptable as a postulate at least, for an extremely sceptical mind, for a while 😜…..then, applying this adage as a thumb rule, …

Is it not important for a life_form to recognise its ‘base’/നില & remain steadfast/നിശ്ചയം to the PURPOSE OF THAT BIRTH with that PARTICULAR form of body???? ( newer desires, chasing of those desires, creating more complications, inviting more karma’s…. warranted???🤔)

Once the base is familiar, and resolve/നിശ്ചയം is steadfast, we just dissolve that set of Prarabhdha karma and go👍. The acquired SKILL of base+ steadfast comes very handy in the next form-of-birth, with next set of prarabhdha karma, carved out of Sanchita karma( our private Godown of karmas😜)

NCC: why do we see things?

This question is what fascinated me more than the lesson in my school NCC 🙏

( How to ask oneself, so as to invoke deeper perception, use sense of Discrimination?..... was the derivation gifted by my fascination)

Armed forces are trained to preserve their ‘life’ during a war🙏. It is an AWESOME design, which substitutes for the unquestioned sense of obedience ingrained in the same training 😂.

To me, the army training seemed to mimic the style of imparting education in our ancient gurukul—-allow the intellect to function, while the negative emotions within, trying to ask questions which are logically fallacious are bridled, till the intellect reviews them🙏🙏🙏

The answer to the question is simple ( and forms a part of the chapter “camouflage & concealment" as a defense🙏)

Why should I silence my mind?(Meditative state)

Only a deep examination of 'mind' can reveal it's true nature 🙏

Unless that nature of the mind is clear enough, no way to think of attempting to silence it consciously 🙏 ( the very low rate of successful meditative state owes to this 😌..…. )

Accidentally, mind becomes still to everyone 🙏. Its value goes unnoticed. Easy example is, mind is non_functional during deep sleep. The advantage is, we feel 'clear' bright and refreshed after waking up in the morning 😜. 

By night, the brain is damn tired. Mind churns out stupid, disconnected scenes which we call dreams ( brain wakes up partially, when dreams are fearsome 🤣. Oh!😥, it was just a dream😜🙏, says the brain .... Otherwise mind is left to dream .  Science labels it as sub_conscious mind🙏... Whereas, we don't need a label 'subconcious' for a brain, a physical organ.

Why should we silence the mind when awake????😡😡😡😡

( I won't attempt to vocalise my answer🙏... Try to find it out only if you are intense enough to know😜....  Experience is enough to convince us)

Mind is a very powerful+ extremely useful tool 🙏, only when tamed, harnessed

Side effects of true friendship

 Side effects of true friendship 

Just a humorous note 🙏

( Not a preachy stuff intended)

I used to stay alone in a small room in Maharashtra ( a small town) for 9 years.

Being a bachelor then, the infrastructure for cooking was bare minimum. 

Ironically, about 8 of my close friends ‘demand’  for a lunch, prepared by me. A very cumbersome task with just a small kerosene stove and two vessels 😓. Cook in installments, pour the dish onto a corner of a large plate, heaped, to have space for the next 3 installments!

Only one fellow ‘bothered’ to come an hour early, to help me😥

The pleasure i derive lasts only for 15 minutes, watching them pounce upon the food to gobble it , whereas my labour is for 2½ hours preceding it 😓

I didn't mind the effort.

6 of them were very rich. Watching them ‘adjusting’ with gross inadequacies of space, cutlery, etc… so effortlessly was a source of amazement for me, afresh each time 😳

Once, they mocked at a fellow. I didn't know that he was so_fussy at his home while dining🙏😥. They said “ look at this fellow! At home, he hurls a glass tumbler of water,  to pieces, if a water drop is seen sticking to the upper edge of its inner side, and here, he quietly pecks at food from a inside of pressure cooker’s lid, parking only ½ of his bottom on a shared steel chair, happily licking his fingers to swallow the last bit of food 😜”( this guy is the youngest child with 5 sisters elder to him. Too pampered. 

I was amazed at the total contrast in him, when he eats in my room, thrice in every 2 months! 

Stubborn, rigid and resistance_filled fellow, displaying unusual flexibility, just to be a ‘part’ of a gang of friends, and to soak into the joyousness of an ambience of ‘unconditional togetherness’ !!!🙏😥😥😳😳😳

These visuals served “in good stead” 15 years later, during a residential spiritual program 😜…  i just had to ‘tap’ the innate+latent flexibility in me🙏. The discipline of the structured program, could cause no ‘discomfort’ to me. I just looked at spiritual bijness as a ‘dear friend’ who can't afford a comfort zone 🙏. His(spirituality personified) friendship is all that mattered for me 🙏

Kerala towel

 Kerala towel 

A traditional kind of bath towel.

Intentionally woven with coarse/loosely_spun 100% cotton yarn.

Torn but still preferred 😜, instead of a new one .

Best use is when it is carefully "hand-washed". When it is still dazzling white, despite a daily use since 6 months ( doesn't last longer), the health+ spiritual benefits are immense and maximised 🙏

Simple advantage is, it absorbs water very well ( residual moisture at the base of the hair of a densely- haired person's skull, might seep into the skin, and cause common cold, headache etc.).

For the spiritual advantage, i leave it to the readers to deduce it from a silly_question :  a bath towel gets soiled, after using it to wipe off the water after bath. After a bath, we are supposed to be 'clean' 🙏 Then, why should the towel get soiled? It can get wet👍, but why the dirt, needing a washing, instead of just squeeze+dry???

Washing your own towel was an ancient practice. The loose weave helps dislodgement of dirt wedged between the weave of the towel. Ancients were too fussy 😥 ( probably for a spiritual reason) about the uses of this traditional towel 😥 ...  A fresh unstitched bit of this towel is preferred for quenching the soul's thirst for the first ten days after the death of a desi guy! The towel is dipped in a bowl of water, ends gathered and twisted anticlockwise, with the left hand holding the lower end, twisting anticlockwise, to direct the drip on to a piece of rock, into which the departed pret_atma is invoked.  Very sophisticated and not perceivable through the 5 sense organs, to understand and accept the "sense" in doing this 😥...  

Bits of dead skin, sticking to our skin are a bit wet and easier to be 'wiped' off, with a coarse, loosely spun+woven cloth. Hygienic benefit is, pores of the skin open up when cleaned. The sensitivity of the skin at very subtle levels is enhanced by the scrubbing of skin during bath, and the efficacy of this towel during the wiping_dry of skin and head after bath. The freshness of skin and hair enhance the receptivity of our "antenna" if... receptivity seems to really matter when inside a temple 🙏

Kerala temples have "managed" to retain the 'science' in the best benefits of a temple, through its unique "rules" imposed on the visitors of those temples. The taantrik style of propitiation has a significant role in affording a keen visitor, to relate the traditional rituals with tenable and modern scientific way of reasoning 🙏

Agastya

 Agastya 

One of the stories about this sage, which made a very deep impression on me , is about his unintended conflict with an ascetic who did intense tapas( austerities) to acquire a great siddhi.

When traveling down south of India, Agastya became too popular and very soon among people of tamilnadu.

A local ascetic grew jealous of this popularity, overtaking his own popularity!

This ascetic decided to settle the issue of ‘who is greater, me or Agastya?’

He sought an audience with Agastya and challenged him to compete with the ascetic.

Initially, Agastya conceded defeat with all humility, being not interested in any competition.

But that ascetic won't leave it. Popularity of Agastya was unbearable 😥

Ultimately, the ascetic himself suggested a very simple and primitive siddhi as a test of greatness, thinking that ‘this fellow isn't going to win over even this👍’

That ascetic handed a sword to Agastya and asked him to slash the arm of the ascetic. Agastya refused saying “i don't indulge in such crude and gross acts of violence”

Then that acetic uses the sword on his own arm, holding the sword in the other. The sword broke!!! Ascetic’s arm withstood the blow of the sword!!!🙂

Now the ascetic asked Agastya to demonstrate the same feat. Agastya replied “🙏 I cannot inflict an injury on myself. You may do it👍…and, since I am the nuisance to you, slash the sword across my chest_itself, right to left diagonal, so that I cease to be, conclusively. The audience is witness to the event and will absolve you of any related_crime allegations “

Ascetic gave a powerful blow with the sword across Agastya. The sword passed through, smoothly without leaving any cut or injury.

Ascetic: “ 😳😳😳 “ surprised! 

Agastya: now, do it the other way “ X “ to make it doubly_sure 🙏

Still no injury! Sword unspoiled as well 😜

Agastya broke the silence: “see, the spiritual practices are about becoming more and more subtle (sookshma)and not about becoming more gross( jadam) than the steel_blade of that sword, to put up a stronger Resistance 🙏”

Needless to add, that ascetic joined the gang of devotees of Agastya 🙏

(My ‘take’ for my own personal use, nothing to do with others ….  Siddhis however super human powers they yield, do not purify the mind, by themselves. Unless there is purity( ‘innocence’ with full awareness, moksha is a distant_dream🙏. Remaining as a non_entity/नाचीज़, and yet accomplishing the minds purity, to me, is what matters most 😜. I use this story, for my personal evolvement, even if it was a fiction👍… my teacher had warned “while i will be doing my best, to plug any ‘super powers creeping into you, a few capabilities are inevitable, due to the nature of spiritual practices you do with me🙏, please exercise caution+self-restraint, in misuse or abusing them! Best option is to ignore those siddhis😌)

Confronting strangers

 Confronting strangers

A few centuries ago, we didn't confront many “strangers” on a daily basis.

Today, the bulk of them are strangers to us.

Initially, I was persuaded to look at “how I confront a stranger”....  Later, as a grownup I happened to also add “how might he_be_confronting me” 😜

Nothing worthwhile to talk about me😓🙏( how much i evolved into my own tools and techniques of how i confront)

The first thought of ours( we, I mean 🙏) might be “who is he?”( Profile & biodata related).

Next thought, in most cases would be “how best am I going to ‘defend’ myself from him”( as a society, are we not nurturing mutual mistrust? 😜)

The costly_joke is, an Airhostess keeps her job only by forcing_herself to flash  a plastic _smile on all the strangers boarding a plane. Needless to add, she needs to ‘relax’ first, to defuse the tension built-up by 300+ stubborn smiles, in her uniform 😭🙏

Centuries ago that ‘next thought’, ( owing to the trust levels in those days) might have been “how do I become receptive to any ‘possible’ value addition from him/her?”

If the first thought had said “he is so_and_so, and it's my duty to offer some kind of Value addition to him” then, that other fellow too adjusts oneself accordingly 🙏

I leave it to the readers to use their sense_of Discrimination and visualise the ‘related’ consequences and its ramifications caused due to the repetitive thought processes 🙏( i don't wish to drag the length of this blog too much)

Highly evolved persons( call them as “enlightened” fellows , if you wish🙏), avoid mutual confrontation, unless their joint effort is indispensable, to “add value” to any other/s in the vicinity 🙏.

These guys OBVIATE that ‘first’ thought itself 😜 ( “Who is this?”). They ‘know' merely by looking at the other, everything that is worth_knowing 🙏, and that's what enlightenment is also_about 🤣
