Dependence

 Dependance

Beautiful concept.

We depend on how well we depend on the better_dependable Values, to minimise our dependance on factors which are less dependable, for a meaningful life ๐Ÿ™‚

If the foregoing is dependable for its reasoning, then, we now turn to examine the types of dependency we lean upon๐Ÿ˜œ

Self-dependance

Interdependence

Independance

Non-dependance( freedom)

For irreligious Hinduism to work for us, it depends on how well we learn these 4

1.how to learn

2.how to deepen perception

3.how to stabilize emotions

4.how to use the sense of Discrimination

( Unlike other ‘religions' where ‘belief' is enough and dependence is outsourced to ‘numbers’ only, Hinduism defined it's dependancy as “Dharmo rakhshati Rakshita”.  Try viewing dharma as Cosmic laws, and it may synchronise better ๐Ÿ™)

When the very basis of our very_existence is owing to some dependance, of some kind, the question of total non_dependance is irrelevant.

This physical frame depends on external factors for its functioning.

Minimising this dependance, gives us a relatively greater freedom, from uncertainties of the availability needed for the resources needed out of such dependence.

2 examples

1.An extreme example:

Undependable example is mine๐Ÿ˜“ I happened to discover that a combo of 3 yogic practices, obviates our direct dependence on ‘food’. ( The same practice can obviate dependence on sleep and the air we breathe, but I didn't pursue the practice to reach+verify that level๐Ÿ™. Historical evidence was enough for me. Certain ascetics, preferring to continue their present mortal frame, to dissolve their past karma, instead of learning to live afresh as a baby( LKG of life๐Ÿ˜œ), devised this practice to go into deep states of hybernation( no food, sleep, or breath) for a minimum 6 months, and then come out of that state to continue ‘next’ phase of work.

I revived this practice, and could see that I didn't need any food intake for 8 days( first 2 days out of 10 days was needed to ‘reach’ the non_dependence๐Ÿ™). What baffled me was the experiential discovery that I had never tried this practice during this lifetime, whereas, doing this practice at a fruitful level needed atleast 2 decades of prior training ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Today, the present day minds have come to conclude that ‘financial’ independence is the fulcrum of other dependencies of all kinds. Relationships started depending of financial dependancy๐Ÿ˜ฅ. Emotional interdependence lost its value. What we call as morality, ethics, inclusiveness etc are totally dependent on our emotional values like truth, integrity, loyalty, love, patriotism etc๐Ÿ™.

Why doesn't ‘spirituality’ find any appeal in us? When do we decide to turn towards our core_dependency, our ‘spirit’?  Sage Patanjali needed just 2 words in Sanskrit to address this question when?๐Ÿ˜œ.  The opening sentence of his monumental work (yoga sutras), with the 2 words ‘atah yoganushasanam’( translation: and now, the discipline of yoga)! A fellow who has finished all his ‘games’ over several life_times, and having thoroughly got convinced that nothing else worked, finds these 2 words perfectly relevant to him๐Ÿ˜‚

Shall we look at how we depend on external factors in our lives today? ๐Ÿ˜œ

Just for fun ๐Ÿ™ ( please don't depend on my sincerity beyond this sentence ๐Ÿ˜“)

1)we vote for scam netas blindly, and depend on their honesty to make our lives easy!

2)we depend on memorizing/copying the school lessons without learning the concepts and expect our degrees to work effectively and efficiently at workplace

3)we depend on outsourced agencies to substitute our parenting and expect our children to care & love us in our oldage.

4)we depend on gadgets to minimise the ‘use’ of our body and expect our body to maintain its ‘working conditions’ even after we age๐Ÿ˜œ.

5) we depend on borrowed wisdom, instead of borrowed experience and expect the borrowed wisdom to work in our lives๐Ÿ˜‚ ( intellect is rarely invoked…. we almost forgot how to invoke our intellect, uninterfered by our negative emotions ๐Ÿ™)

6) we depend on chemicals in man-made medicines and expect them to cure us, whereas they manage only to give us symptomatic relief or to suppress the pain_response needed to warn us of a malfunctioning in our body๐Ÿ˜ฅ

7) etc…. Like, WE DEPEND ON COPYPASTE AND FORWARDS, and expect a genuine response of true_affection from our recipients ๐Ÿ™‚ ( We end up only  adding junk_data into the storage location in minds and gadgets of both of us. Zero value addition. 99% of such forwards are deleted when mobile handset shouts ‘no storage space ‘!)

Trust is an indispensable element of dependency.  The quality of trust we offer and receive, decides the quality of our life. ( USA decided to print “in God we trust”. Dollars as a medium of exchange between non-dollar nations, did earn enough for USA, until recently ๐Ÿ˜œ. Now, the quality of trust seems to be getting questioned ๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ™)

Unexpectedly yours,
