Oldies ( assuming to be wiser than other oldies around), advise : we must give FREEDOM to our children and grandchildren 🙏. 

( I rejoice 😜, when such advise it thrust upon me, even very_ informally, by any responsible oldie around 👍

I respond : "Done!!!"( I simply translates as :"I am no more responsible for that fellow any more! A jailor is damn_free, when there are zero inmates in his prison 👍.  " Lowest/mildest/simplest responsibility. Highest responsibility is as_a_guru 🙏)

Desi way of parenting used to be very sophisticated 🙏…. It used to start in the womb, when the baby is 5½ months plus.

Kid in the womb gets familiar with pranava resonating in the mother's womb 🙏. ( ashtaVakra 'developed' 8/ashta deformities/vakra, while in the womb. The resonance he was 'force_fed' was not in 'sync' with correct semantics of pranava resonating 😜---- a symbolic story, 'meant' to persuade us to delve deeper!)

( Am I violating verse 110 of chapter _2, of manusmriti? Supplying unsought data?😭🤔)

As per tradition,

The eldest( by elderliNess, not age alone) steps_into_the_shoes of a departed elder🙏

Subrogation is stepping into the shoes.

( My grandpa was 'conferred' with the subrogation rights, by 3 of his brothers elder to him by age! Not a common feature, beCause, Hindu_way-of-life ensured buzurgi/elderliNess to run concurrently with age!

I am so fortunate, my siblings ( of my "larger family" stripped me of such moral responsibility, when they declared their independence_from_me. 😜.

I don't need a vaanaprastha to seek seclusion/hermitage/solitude etc in this age/kaliyug, at my age of 70+🙏👍
