Speciality of Aruna Sairam( famous classical singer) , as I noticed was that
she takes extra effort to revive, promote and popularise forgotten aspects, ragas, uniqueness of desi_music..... A huge taskπ she uses every stage she is given, to utilise a few minutes for that!
I had 2 teachers doing similarly with forgotten "values" of Bharat π....one lady teacher teaching Hindi....another was a Telugu (male) teacher... These two teachers are remembered with reverence, even today by my classmates! They "used" the stage of a teacher that God gave themπ 125/- salary....
One Telugu teacher past 75 in 1967-69....gave us samples of spiritual insightπ..... subtle skills, like .....telling the time ( you have 7 more minutes, for the bell to ring) without a wrist watch.π....he places his forefinger downturned and horizontal, just below his nostrils.....and tells the time! When we *_are sufficiently awed_* he gives the "how it's done".... He adds " your breath shifts every 2 hours between two nostrils! With practice, you know how to 'read' its intensity!"
A 'techie' in Yahoo called me in 2007 to tell me " people like you ought to be brought into limelight".... when I asked her, why i am picked to share the virtual stage.....offered by Yahoo...."Ask The Planet" program..... All others were Celebrities.... Gavaskar, Ravishankar, Piyush Pande(adv king), Abdul Kalam, Mamta Banerjee, etc....
My question was used in IIM for group discussion during campus_recruitment, traing etc.... I myself saw a school in Nerul giving my question as homework for 11th kids during summer holidays π
But i went into obscurity very soon....π
I appreciate the efforts of that lady executive at Yahoo, Mumbai π...
In a way ,
we owe it to world....to payback.....for the chance we get to share a stage, to highlight a forgotten aspect of our society π.... Mass invoking of nazariya π....like mass hypnotizm, etcπ
( When I got highlighted, .....i tried to highlight the subtle aspect of Bharat....and thus the question-itself.... became unique π.... I didn't lose time in paybackπ°)
π
2 things need to 'click' together...
I know something of value, but gone obscure....
I get a 'stage'....
A fellow like me gets the stage , only by accident π
1995 or so
Our colony used to conduct sports for kids.....using "Pongal" festival as an occasion.... I used to be active in promoting varieties of sportsπ.... ( We make sure every kid below 10.....gets some prize....he walks to to *_stage_*....π)
We had a rangoli competition for housewives!
Three expert judges from outside were to judge independently!!!!
A large ground was cleaned... A dozen participants given a length and breadth of 20 sqft....
One judge didn't turn up...π
The committee decided that i was the best "available" Stepney.....though a maleπ°....my wife wasn't participating & i hadn't witnessed the ladies doing it/drawing....
The two madams, both experts in the city....in judging rangoli....were asked to come to my home, for 5 minutes.....so that I can be briefed on how_to_judge?
I asked their permission to speak for 2 minutes,
I suggested a columnar chart.... 6 columns....with headers like "design", "proportion", "dimension", antiquity, tantrik aspects etc....π
1st column was for "number" given to participating lady....
Totals at last column
Thus, a lady with excellent skill, unable to afford costly gimmicks, colour powder etc ....stands a fair chance to win!
The two professional judges were *_awed_*...
they asked my 'permision' to use this format elsewhere also.....to judge the rangoli at other coloniesπ
One lady, a professor in some college, spoke on Mike "we consider it lucky that one lady judge didn't turn upπ.....we got an opportunity to redefine the very process of judgement...
Can I request Shri PSN to himself _explain the purpose of each header of the columns?..... We propose to use 4 headers at least....where as he said, there could be a dozen headers. His knowledge about ancient rangoli was an eye opener π"
I spent just 300 seconds(5 minutes) to explain the different aspects of a rangoli!
One good ( forgotten) aspect was.......in the ancient days.....a rangoli served as daily_almanac....for passersby....π..... printing calendars was not known π
Toughest pay_back is on spiritual path π
We don't know our benefactors ( bodyless beings hovering above, 24/7 π€£)
Paying back yours,
PSN (8th Jan, 2023)
